So I am still exhausted from camp... and it has been two weeks since I have been back. That is how much sleep I was lacking up there in Big Bear. As always camp was AWESOME! It always is and I had a group of 10 girls ages 13-15 and they were amazing. The first half of the week is always a challenge. It can be hard getting the girls to bond and meld together. I had 5 of my girls that I had last year so they were buddies right off the bat. After a few days of activities and some time to hang and make some inside jokes the girls were closer than ever.
This was the first year where I felt I could relax a little bit up at camp. I didn't have a CIT this year but because my girls were older (I usually have the little ones) I was able to give them some freedom and also kick my feet up for a bit too. That was really nice because I was able to spend some one-on-one time with some of the other counselors and not to mention I made time for some red bull chugging and chatting at Ron's cabin and an occasional trip to Shangri-la.
The Ladees were in full force this year and with stylish shirts (thanks Brienne) and mugs (thanks Briana)!! I loved having a cabin close to my girls this year. Somehow for the last two years I have been closer to the guys side and the endless mountains (scary at night :) We did have a hungry visitor join us for a couple of nights this year but he turned out to be harmless. He visits from time to time. I actually think it is time we give him a name... Charlie maybe?!?
One of my favorite moments at camp this year was Heather's rag ceremony. I couldn't attend but Christi and waited outside and then joined at the end and I had the honor of doing the closing prayer which led to a hefty flood of tears. I love Heather so much. She is an amazing friend and I look up to her in many ways. I also just enjoyed my time with my girls. They are all so great and I have seen many of them grow and mature just since last year. They like to call me "Mom" and it's kinda growing on me. I love those girls and will miss them so much this year!
I am sad to see another year of camp fly by so fast. I look forward to next year not only to be able to see my campers again but also to take my brown rag. I am on my seventh year with my silver and I am almost there with my goals. I think this year I will make it happen and be ready to finally move on to new goals!! Until next year... I will look up and love and laugh and lift!

My AMAZING Girls!

Always at their best :)

I love nature... one week of the year!
